The Sitecore Content Generator AI Agent allows you to automate content generation and rapidly create and optimize content for any component within Page Builder – without using external tools and enabling seamless AI content automation inside the Sitecore ecosystem.

Use case: Content Generator AI agent in action

Here we utilize Content Generator AI Agent to generate content for a custom Information Card component placed on a page in Sitecore Page Builder. The AI is prompted by individual fields to generate headlines, descriptions, and supporting page copy from basic text prompts, making automated content generation workflows more efficient.

Component used

• Information Card: A custom component configured with a dedicated data source template containing Heading, Description, and CTA Label fields
• Existing Components: Rich Text, Image, Title, etc.

Two levels of content generation were demonstrated:

1. Content generation using AI agents

The AI agent uses native AI-powered content automation to populate content for specific Information Card fields (Heading, Description, CTA Label), Rich Text, and other locations on the site where material is needed.

2. AI Optimization

You can also utilize AI Optimize to develop and optimize content right in the Page Builder to offer better quality results.

Previously, the Information Card component was end-to-end configured in Sitecore before using the AI Agent. Optional step, can be done for any of the components. Here is the quick overview of how it looks.

• Opened the target page in Sitecore Page Builder
• Clicked the + button, located Information Card under Page Content, and added it to the canvas

Content generation automation using AI agent

With the Information Card on the page, we triggered the Content Generator AI Agent within the AI Agents. We give a properly specified prompt to the content generator agent to generate content for the component, utilizing the capabilities offered in SitecoreAI.

Step 1: Provide an optimized prompt for telling the agent what type of content needs to be generated

Once the material is generated with material Generator AI Agent, we can further optimize and generate content with AI Optimize in Page Builder. Users can create content for Rich Text and other parts with AI icon and prompts, and enhance the output with Improve Writing, Make Longer, Make Shorter, Summarization, Change Tone, and more. This demonstrates how AI-led content automation enhances speed and editorial consistency.

Steps to be followed

1. Open Page Builder: Go to Sitecore and open Page Builder. Then navigate to the page where you want content.

2. Select Rich Text Component: Click on the Rich Text field so it becomes editable and shows the toolbar.

3. Open Optimize AI: Click the AI Assistant or Optimize AI icon available in the toolbar or side panel.

4. Click Generate Content: Choose the “Generate Content” option inside the AI panel to start creating text.

5. Enter Prompt: Write a clear instruction such as topic, tone, or length.

Example: “Write a professional paragraph about AI in Sitecore for a blog.”

6. Generate content: Click Generate and wait for AI to create the content.

7. Review & optimize: Check the output and optionally use:

• Improve writing
• Change tone
• Expand or shorten

8. Apply content: Click Apply/Insert to place the generated content into the Rich Text field.

9. Save & publish: Save your changes and publish the page.

You may also use the AI to create content for the other page sections such as section summary copy, supporting body text, and closing material, all without leaving Page Builder within the Sitecore Content Management System.
